Unfortunately, i'm getting less and less time for PlainHTML development. I can't afford right now, to run and keep up several versions at the same time. Quiet right now, i'm involved in PlainHTML 8's develpment, with nearly 65% completeness. Since PlainHTML 8's core will be completely rewritten, it takes a lot of time and i'm advancing very slowly. Any feature requests for PlainHTML 7 may be implemented in PlainHTML 8. The PlainHTML 6 branch (which contains version 7 as well, due to version 7 uses the same core as PlainHTML 6) development has been halted, i'm concentrating on version 8 now. Presumably, the Websuite will lose several stand-alone parts (CSnipper, as it will be merged with PlainHTML, the Universal File Viewer for the same reason, and because PlainHTML will have new elements wich will help identifying pictures, graphics much easier, eg. thumbnail views). Version 8 will introduce a new feature for the user interface: skinning support, with a standalone skin editor, thanks to Silverpoint Development. The controls used offer a much more robust interface, provide the engine for skinning, and also will ease the future transfer to Unicode. This one depends on the UniSynedit project, as i will incorporate it in PlainHTML as soon as they implement code folding. The current editor component is still ansi version, but it can convert unicode clipboard data easily, and also does a good job with the Unicode controls provided by the spTBX library. As soon as the first public alpha version becomes available for download, screenshots will be presented. Add this page to your favorite Social Bookmarking websites |
